This release has certainly been a long time coming! We started work on R9.0 right after R8.1 and began work in earnest making CHIU into something that our users would find familiar. We go most of the work and bugs fixed only to find some unacceptable performance issues. A significant amount of time was lost trying to make it faster. In the end we reimplemented chat from scratch with a mixture of R8.1 and the best CHUI elements. We wanted to bring a release that had the updated chat, our own new features and the latest Linden developments. In the end it was simply overwhelming.

In answer to this we started our open beta program and the response has been tremendous. A huge thank you to everyone who got involved, reported bugs and issues, helped find bugs and crashes, made suggestions. This has been so successful that it will form the basis of all releases going forward.

Future releases will be smaller and incremental with more public testing. We hope this will allow up to keep up wit Linden Lab, continue to deliver unique new features and make Catznip the most stable Second Life viewer.
