Welcome to the main support and documentation portal for the Catznip Viewer, a third party graphical client for Second Life. The viewer is listed in the official Third Party Viewer Directory.

Viewer Help & Support

We do not provide dedicated support staff, and while we will always try and be helpful if we can, contacting the viewer developers directly might not be the fastest or best way to get support on problems that are not specific to either Catznip or RLVa.

Official Second Life Support

If the problem you are having exists in both Catznip and the official client, your first port of call should be the official Second Life support services.

Catznip Specific Help & Support

Update Catznip

Using Catznip? First make sure you are using the latest released version. Help > About in the viewer will tell you what release you are using. Download the latest from the downloads page.

To join or open the Catznip Group from in the viewer, top menu click Help > Catznip Support Group. You can also paste the following in chat in the viewer and click the link that appears.

We will always try to help where we can but time is limited and we could easily spend all day helping people out with general Second Life problems or queries. If you really really need to contact us personally then the preferred way is to drop a notecard on Catznip in world. Yes this is an alt, but it has been our experience that when people either IM or drop notecards on us we (completely unintentionally) forget about it until much later.

If you want to peek if we’re online you can search for Trinity Dejavu or Kitty Barnett but if we’re not or can’t respond then please do just send offline IMs and notecards to Catznip instead. If we’re pre-occupied might still ask you to drop a notecard on Catznip as a reminder.

Kitty is worried this will sound mean or dismissive, but really we prefer to set a realistic expectation; If we can – or have the time to – we probably will help, but if it’s outside of the “Catznip – or RLVa – scope” then there is a good chance we will just refer you to the Second Life Forums or Knowledge Base, unless you are made from chocolate, then we will just eat you. Om nom nom.
